In his 16 years of Music teaching experience, Justin has taught in both International and Public Schools. He has a BA with Dip Ed, majoring in Music (Piano/Voice/Clarinet). He also continues to upgrade his musicianship and pedagogical skills by completing numerous levels of certification for Early childhood, Primary and Secondary levels.
After attending the Orff Schulwerk Summer Course in Salzburg, Austria, he completed all 4 levels of the Orff Schulwerk Course in Australia. Justin also attained various levels of Kodaly’s Teaching Course in Brisbane, Australia.
These renowned international pedagogical courses equipped him with lots of strategies to engage children to learn Music through play. Justin was also involved in planning the National Music curriculum and taught in a few International Schools while in Singapore. He was also sought after to conduct Music courses for Music teachers in China, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. He wrote an academic paper which was published in the XIII International Academic/Practical Conference Modern Music Education 2014, held in St. Petersburg, Russia, at the Herzen Russian State Pedagogical University and St. Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory. A press release about Justin’s innovative piano teaching was also published in the newspaper in Singapore in 2015.
Justin believes that bringing a lot of laughter and joy to students are important to keep the fun in the journey of learning music and he is looking forward to meet and create all the musical journey with all the students at Archadenia Music Academy.
