AMANDA SUWONDO, B.Mus
Amanda has just graduated from Sydney Conservatorium of Music, majoring in jazz performance in 2015. She also did her diploma at contemporary music performance at C3 College, Oxford Falls, NSW in her former year. She loves playing jazz, blues, funk, and contemporary as well as classical music. She has been learning under Australia's well-known jazz players such as Simon Barker, Matt McMahon, Judy Bailey, Mike Nock, Kevin Hunt, etc. She recently went to New York and got a chance to learn under Tamir Hendelman (Los Angeles), and Christian Sands (New York City). Besides her career as a session pianist, doing gigs around Australia, joining bands, recording sessions, etc, she also has been working with her trio and quartet performing her original music.
Her career as a teacher started in 2010. She is so passionate about teaching music for both kids and adults. She knows that music is really important to be learned at the very young age and she wants to help students to be creative with their music and play the music from their heart because they enjoy and love it.
"I love teaching music because I love kids and I want them to have a lot of fun playing music. Playing music because they WANT TO, not because they HAVE TO." -Amanda Suwondo-
